What are the most significant challenges that society faces today?
I think that society is currently facing two major challenges, which are as follows:
- Miniscule Social Challenges
- Substantial Social Challenges
What are Miniscule Social Challenges?
The challenges that only affect one person, family, or society.
For instance: Laziness after COVID-19.
Laziness After COVID-19:
Laziness is the main issue that society is currently facing. Everyone stayed at home during the Covid period and eventually adapted to the sluggish atmosphere of their homes. such as sleeping improperly, waking up late, etc. As time passed, these people grew to love that routine so much that they didn’t want to leave.
How has Laziness (or COVID) affected the Health of People?
Gyms and outdoor exercise were prohibited during the Covid period. Few people installed exercise equipment in their homes, but the majority of people have abandoned their exercise regimens. All of these factors had such a negative impact on the people that they gained excessive weight. The body scale of these individuals has significantly changed when compared to the pre-covid era. In fact, every one of these people is undermining their health.

How has Laziness (or COVID) affected Job Routines?
Laziness has also affected those who were regular workers of the companies before covid. Working from home has become more favourite among the same people since COVID-19, and most of them are concentrating on keeping their jobs that way by doing work from home. This presents a significant challenge for businesses today. Employees of every company want the option of working from home, whether they are employed by Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Apple or a small organization.
Although some company owners believe that working from home seems to be the best option for their organisations because they can make revenue by not using the equipment and systems of the company as well as by not feeding the staff. While others think that working from home has disrupted their businesses because they are unable to accomplish the same tasks that they could through in-office work.
In fact, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg hold opposing views regarding working from home. Musk didn’t support it, but Zuckerberg did.

What are Substantial Social Challenges?
The Challenges That Affect the Whole World; including humans, animals, plants, lands and oceans, etc.
For Example: Global Warming.
Global Warming:
Global warming refers to the rise in the average temperature of Earth. Both man-made and natural disasters cause it. In this article, I’ll discuss some of the fundamental causes, effects, and strategies to handle it.
How Much Temperature of The Earth Increased Over The Last Century?
According to a study, the average temperature of the earth has increased by up to 1.1 degrees centigrade over the past century, and since 1975, it has increased by 0.15 to 0.20 degrees centigrade each decade.
Proof:
How Global Warming is Formed?
The greenhouse effect is the primary cause of global warming. The greenhouse effect occurs when greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, water vapour, and fluorinated gases, trap heat in the atmosphere and warm it.
Causes of Global Warming:
Some of the factors that cause global warming are:
Man-Made:
- Pollution of the air, water, land, and noise.
- Excessive use of automobiles and refrigerators.
- Deforestation – Which Increases the Carbon Dioxide Level in the Atmosphere
Natural:
- Volcanic eruption is the primary natural cause of global warming.
Effects of Global Warming:
- Climate Change
- Melting of Icebergs and Ice Sheets (Like Ice Sheets of Antarctica)
- Sea-Level Rise
- Increase in Storms
- Cause health problems (such as cancer) by the increase in the planet’s temperature
Interesting Point: Do Electric Cars Increase or Decrease Global Warming?
The majority of people are mistaken in their belief that electric vehicles and other electric appliances aid in the fight against global warming. We know that electric cars run on electricity and batteries, and when we contemplate how these two things are manufactured, we can see that they emit more dangerous gases into the atmosphere than gasoline.
Although electric vehicles don’t release any harmful gas when we use them, but they had contributed enough to global warming before reaching our hands.
Proof:
How to Control Global Warming?
- Use bicycles for local transportation.
- Planning effectively for running industries.
- Every Industry Should Use Air Purifiers.
- Reuse discarded goods.
- Avoid felling trees solely for financial gain.
Conclusion:
In this article, I discussed both types of social challenges that society faces today in detail. I sincerely hope the admissions committee can grasp the points that I mentioned in it.
